The World Around Us

The World Around Us replaces science and technology, history and geography.  Instead, the elements of these subjects will make up this new area of the revised curriculum.

The emphasis should be on the key areas involved in experimental learning;

1. Self-responsibility & self- management for the children.

2. Teamwork skills.

3. Increasing self-esteem.

4. There needs to be a balance between core concepts and core skills, i.e.  what the children have learned and what skills they have developed in their learning.

The World Around Us afford children a fantastic opportunity to engage with activities that encourage them to work in a practical, multi-sensory way; to use thinking skills; to take part in collaborative learning and to really experience all the fun and wonder that learning has to offer.
